Frank and Alice Yeung are from Vancouver but live in Shanghai.

Frank’s uncle and aunt also live in Shanghai.
During WWII, Frank stayed in Shanghai, but Alice left as she is pregnant.
Alice gives birth in Old Chang's arms and accepts Frank's death towards the end.
